According to https://www.ghacks.net/2020/03/14/firefox-os-successor-mozilla-and-kaios-announce-partnership/
it was abandoned in 2016. The article is two years old and implies
that the code lives on as KaiOS.

How weird that the article is EXACTLY two years old!! ;-P
KaiOS .... presumably developed by KaiRo, who was involved in the early
FF/SM development.
