  • Current Lead-time on IRS Accepting e-file

    Anyone know what the current lead time is on IRS accepting an e-filed
    return? My son submitted his e-file yesterday and still hasn't gotten the
    IRS acknowledgement. I know they say it could take 24-48 hours for IRS to acknowledge a return, but I usually hear back within a few hours.

    I volunteer for AARP Tax Aide and we've had almost all of ours accepted with an hour this year.

    His finally did get accepted, and it was roughly 30 hours after submission,
    so right in that mythical 24-48 hour range.
