I got only the first payment, by direct deposit, last year,
and no form 1444s. I am overseas, and I am not eligible for
e-filing because of some forms limitations. My daughter
received neither payment nor 1444.Before filing my 2020
taxes I would like to know if Uncle Sam thinks I received
any more money, and the same for my daughter.
We an not do an on-line check because we don't have US
telephone numbers, nor credit cards. Debit cards are not
enough.
Should we try to get a transcript of the 2020 accounts by
mail? Or just assume that what we have was what the IRS
thinks was sent?
You can file your tax return based on what you received, If
you claim a recovery rebate credit higher than what the IRS
thinks you are entitled to, they will just make the
correction when they process your return, and send you a
letter explaining what they did.
