It seems like a common occurrence in recent years that California's
Governor Gavin Newsominstead of minding his own state's business and
working to enrich the lives of its citizens and unleash the prosperity of
its business ownerspokes around in an effort to pick a fight with red
    states and their chief executives.

Most prominent along these lines is his feud with Florida Gov. Ron
DeSantis of course, who he dared to meet him one-on-one for a debate about
the merits of red versus blue states in December 2023.

Then more recently, much of Newsom's ire has been directed at President
Donald Trump, possibly in hopes of raising his national profile leading up
to a potential run for president in 2028. He isn't exactly able to run on
how he's brought California to its knees with wrongheaded liberal policies
on green energy, illegal immigration, and other issues.

In fact, on illegals, the governor was forced into an embarrassing pickle
of a situation back in May, when he had to leave out giving illegal aliens
free healthcare at taxpayer expense from the state's latest budget; California's coffers just didn't have the dough to cover it, it turns out.

It followed Newsom's having to scrap a request to the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) in the waning days of the Biden administration,
which would have forced most trucks sold in the country to be built as EVs (electric vehicles).

On Thursday, we were also reminded of Newsom's ignorance of and/or disdain
for the U.S. Constitution and the will of California voters, as
legislation he boasted about signing into lawwith the aid and comfort of
a Democrat supermajoritywas found to be counter to Second Amendment protections, as my colleague Jennifer Van Laar wrote.

But Newsom found himself so triggered by another Republican governor's
social media post on Friday, that he beclowned himself in the process of
trying to lay down what he apparently considered a scalding burn.

The jewel in the crown for Republicans in Oklahoma's legislative session
that ended on June 1Governor Kevin Stitt's main prioritywas passing an
income tax cut for most working people, which ended up being a quarter-
percent reduction, from 4.75 percent to 4.5 percent--the wider goal being
the elimination of the state income tax, known as the "path to zero," in
hopes of joining the nine other U.S. states to do so.

GOP State Sen. Dusty Deevers filed two bills in January to repeal the
state's personal income tax one would reduce the rate further, while the other would abolish it completely, according to conservative think tank,
The Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs.

Republicans, as I said, were victorious; the tax rate was cut in late May (pretty much along party lines, 34-11 in the Senate and 74-19 in the
House), something that the governor mentioned in an X post on Thursday:

In case you can't see the post, it reads:

Were phasing out Oklahomas income tax finally. And once we get to zero, Oklahoma will be rollin like never before.

Gov. Newsom reshared the post, adding in his two cents, claiming it's California that is giving OK a "tax break" somehow because of federal
taxes its citizens pay in. He wrote:

Oklahoma relies on California for critical federal tax dollars that fund education, healthcare and apparently this new tax break.

    You're welcome, @GovStitt

Stitt got the last word, though, giving Newsom a fictitious "award"-- as Oklahomas Economic Developer of the Year:

I mean, could that response be any more chef's kiss?

And while red state governors like Stitt keep their noses to the
grindstone, reducing the tax burden on their citizens, what is the Golden State's governor keeping his attention on?

You've got to hand it to radical progressive Dems like Newsom and Rep.
Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), the latter of whom was last seen on Friday striking
a metal container with a spoon to support "Palestinians." Even the most creative satire writers throughout history could not make up something
    better.

November 5, 2024 - Congratulations President Donald Trump. We look
forward to America being great again.
