This is one of those ultra-subjective "human
issues" ... we kinda make it up as we go along.
Is abortion a "right" ? Does a month-old embryo
count as "human" - and thus have "rights" ? NO

In the USA, abortion is not exactly a legal "right".
Everybody knew "Roe" was based on VERY shakey legal
logic and WOULD be dumped at some point.
Now SHOULD it be TREATED a lot like a "right" ?
IMHO, yes. I also tend to agree with those who
say "No Womb - No Opinion". Far too easy to get
preggers - either by negligence or crime - and
nobody should be condemned to childbirthing.
LIMITS ? Also yes. For SURE once into the 3rd tri
you've got a fairly well-developed, perfectly viable,
well-wired "human". BEFORE that, sorry, not wired
well-enough IMHO to call "human" with any conviction.
So ... the US govt SHOULD (and should HAVE) codified
a certain range of abortion legality LONG ago. Indeed
EVERY right explicitly mentioned in the constitution
should have had the same extra layer of protection.
But abortion (and some right-wing issues) did NOT get
codified - even when the opportunities existed. WHY ?
Well, the USUAL. "Threats" = CAMPAIGN DONATIONS and
VOTES. Do away with such threats and there's NO MONEY
in them anymore.
When in question, when in doubt, follow the MONEY
and you'll find out.

In any case, I think the SANE mission NOW is to
push out the EXTREMISTS - left/right/whatever.
They never have OUR best interests at heart ;
only their own power and glory. Extremists always
seek to cause chaos, ROLL THE DICE, in hopes they
can take advantage to gain Ultimate Power.
You really Really REALLY don't WANT them to have
anything approaching Ultimate Power .........
