If not, maybe Apple only puts Google Voice on the iPads by default?
Apple doesn't install Google Voice by default. It's likely you
installed it on one of your devices when you actually had an iCloud
account and it reinstalled on your iPad when you logged in at some
point. Or maybe you installed it and don't remember. I believe you've mentioned before using Google Voice at one time.
Hi badgolferman,
It's refreshing responding to you versus to the Apple trolls, who are like small children who can't carry on a normal adult conversation with others.
First off, I fully understand that it would be considered odd that Apple
would install, of all things, a third-party competing app such as Google
Voice, on any iOS device, so I have to consider why that Google Voice is on there, even as I had thought it had never been logged into.
Given your objection, I dug deeper and found out what I think is the issue.
While I have a few iPads & iPhones, this particular 10th Generation iPad is merely a test device, so I have never explicitly wanted to add an account
to it, which means it would have been difficult for me to add any apps
given the iCloud account likely wouldn't work - but it has been a while
since I bought it and I did have to create an account of some sort on the
Apple servers just to *initialize* this iPad in the first place.
As you are likely aware, only Apple murders your privacy by requiring that.
Given that I had to establish an account on Apple's mainframe servers just
to boot the damn thing, it's likely maybe at the time, just maybe, dunno,
that I had installed "Google Voice" on it (I don't remember if I did that).
At the moment it has no account on it, so I don't know how I could have
done that; but given Google Voice is, indeed, a strange third-party app for Apple (of all companies) to have installed, I stand corrected, and admit I
must have made a mistake when I had responded to Chris the way I did.
I apologize to Chris, and to anyone who might have been offended; but I
will LOOK deeper on the device to see the history as I typically take a lot
of screenshots so I will look at what I did to rehash its history.
Suffice to summarize, for now though, that almost certainly you are
correct, which means that I was wrong in what I said, and I apologize for leading anyone astray - as I probably added GV at some point and then wiped
out the account (or something like that).
My apologies to you and to Chris for that inadvertent mistake.
