The total amount of articles in December were 1197. The crossposted threads were more prevalent that month.

In December Alan Browne did not make the top 25 posters. However Alan Baker far outperformed everyone else with 322 posts. In January he also outpaced everyone with 129 posts.

I think it’s quite clear who is responsible for the vast majority of blather on this group. Your point about him being bored and stirring controversy (classic signs of a troll) is well taken.

    Kiss-ass.

I study these rather strange Apple trolls, so I appreciate that data.

If you count the "effort" Alan Baker put into those 451 posts, I'd wager
just the effort you put into calculating that data overwhelms that of his.

That's the main issue I have with these Apple trolls such as Alan Browne.
Apple trolls like Joerg Lorenz put zero effort into any of their posts.

So, thanks for kindly running that research into the statistics, where I
was interested in how the newsgroup would fare when it first lost JF Mezei, Michelle Steiner, & even the rather knowledgeable David Empson years ago.

With David Empson gone, there was really nobody left to counter the purposefully unhelpful made-up faked "solutions" by nospam & Jolly Roger.

I have entire threads pointing to where those two maliciously sadistic individuals purposefully led innocents astray by claiming iOS could do what they never tried - and which David Empson had to set them straight on.

Lewis offered the same wild goose chases whenever anyone tried to do
something simple on iOS - but he wasn't as sadistic as JR & nospam are.

After David Empson left, there are precious few people to counter their
lies, where, as you're well aware, I made sure to counter them with facts.

Speaking of countering lies, I long ago continually confronted both Alan
Baker & Snit about their brazen fabrications, where even I had to give up
as people like Alan Baker have only one purpose on Usenet, as you stated.

Alan Baker is only on Usenet entirely for his own sadistic amusement.

Not really. You are still the brain dead sociopath of the group, Arlen.

Are you saying Michael Glasser was Snit? I've now learned something
    else from you.

Take Chris, who we agree is smarter than most, but even he swears he
has a medical-based PhD & yet ridiculed basic immunology terms such
    as 'vehicle'.

I don't remember that conversation, but admittedly I don't read every
single post on this newsgroup. From my interactions with Chris he
doesn't seem like an Apple apologist since even he questions some of
the outlandish claims made by the usual suspects.

Take Jolly Roger who swore for years that Apple completely & fully
patches older releases when Apple simply never has done so in its
    entire history.

He's got bigger problems than being an Apple apologist.

Take Joerg Lorenz who, laughably, claims he knows more than everyone
else, and yet there isn't a single person that he could possibly know
    more than.

I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt since English is not his
native language, but he's proven my patience to be misguided.

Take Your Name who, just as with Joerg, claims everything is
worthless, and yet, nothing he ever says isn't worthless - which is
    his own projection.

Everything is idiotic and moronic to him. I picture him as the old man
in the corner shaking his finger at everyone.

However, if we take nospam, who was an Apple troll to the core, we
finally for the first time find someone who actually knew something
about Apple products - so much - in fact - that I joke his contract
to defend Apple to the death no matter what simply had expired after
    two decades of that ilk.

Yes, nospam was different - but even he had a lower-than-average IQ
since all his arguments were the sophomoric type that a fifth-grade
bully employs e.g., anything Apple couldn't do was, to him, "not
    needed" & "not wanted".

nospam was occassionaly helpful to me and his incredibly dry demeanor
was amusing. I'm sad to see him gone.

In decades of being on Usenet, which you know I've been on from, oh,
even the old a.h.r days when Steve and you and I bantered about
fixing things, I've only had to plonk a single-digit handful of
    worthless posters.

My days on Usenet actually predate alt.home.repair when I discovered alt.autos.toyota and learned to repair my car from those fellows. sms
was on that group too. I once asked how to disable DRLs and that
thread went absolutely bonkers with people getting more nasty than
Jolly Roger and Lewis combined. It must have measured into the 1000s
before it finally died. Of course the group eventually died too when politics became pervasive. A.H.R. is headed that way too. Amazingly
this group is still fairly clean despite the crossposted political
messages slipping in. No one other than Alan bites on those, but
    that's because he's bored.

Amazing how you decided to snip out his bullshit about me, rather than addressing it as the bullshit it is.

But that's what Quislings do, isn't it?

    :-)

    <https://groups.google.com/g/misc.phone.mobile.iphone/c/Bc4VQPVkqT8/m/O0nMYqHnBQAJ>

It's not easy to find the exact original instance, but it happened and you should know from experience that I don't lie about such things, Chris.

By way of stark contrast, it's my opinion you lied about having a PhD in
the biological sciences and right now it's clear that you're lying about
not having ridiculed the use of the word "vehicle" which is a common immunological term.

I don't often call people a liar, Chris - but if you're not lying, then you simply forgot that you said you had a PhD in the medical field and yet you ridiculed something as basic as the immunological use of the term "vehicle" (which is know to anyone who takes even a single class in immunology).

If you hadn't claimed such a lofty education, and if lack of education
wasn't the paramount commonality among you Apple trolls, I wouldn't even
have mentioned your faux pas, Chris.

But you claimed a lofty degree - and yet - you know nothing in the field.

You also ridiculed the scientific assessment of the size of the SARS-COV-2 genmome, Chris, at around 30K subunits - which - again - you wouldn't have ridiculed had you taken even a single class in virology - as that's a huge number of bases for an RNA virus.

To your credit though, you did once catch an error in one of my posts,
where I had listed the percentages off by a decimal point in the Covid
death rates for children (which actually bolstered my argument by 10x!).

As per usual "Marion" twists everything to suit his narrative.

Naah. I simply tell the truth. I have no problem admitting if I'm wrong.
In fact, I *love* when I'm wrong because then I learn something new.

My ego isn't fragile like that of you Apple troll herd animals, to the
point that you feel desperate to lie about your own words, Chris.

Just own up to the fact that you claimed a PhD level medical education, and then, you ridiculed both the characterization of the Covid genome as
"large" and you ridiculed the use of "vehicle" in immunological contexts.

My strong assertion is that NOBODY with the amount of medical education
that you claim you have would have done either of those two things, Chris.

Just like nobody who claims to be competent in BMWs would be unaware of
what they're commonly called - well - except for Alan Baker that is.

Notice the trend that I'm pointing out to you Chris?

Nobody who knows anything about operating systems would ever claim that
Apple has ever fully patched anything but the current release - and yet -
you Apple trolls - such as Jolly Roger is - claim that Apple does that.

    Who is that stupid, Chris?
Only you Apple trolls are *that* stupid, Chris.

However, to badgolferman's point, of all the Apple trolls, you're the least onerous, where you don't go to the level that nospam does, for example, of simply claiming everything you don't like about Apple is wrong.

For that, I respect you. And hence, I don't plonk you.

However, the same can't be said for Alan Baker who claimed for weeks that
it was impossible to change a Usenet newsreader header, and yet, at the
same time he claims to support people on their computers - which - if he
does - then Lord help those people because nobody is *that* stupid.

I rebutted this "recollection" of his a few months ago and even dug out the original posts which he refused accept. Simply put he's an
    attention-seeking loon and best ignored.

Bullshit Chris. You're embarrassed and now you're lying to cover up for it.

We can move forward and discuss things respectfully, but you don't have the education you claim you have when you make sophomoric mistakes like that.

Bear in mind what's common about all you Apple trolls is you're uneducated,
and hence, you're herd animals out of necessity.

This is a VERY IMPORTANT point about all you Apple trolls:
    a. You are uneducated and hence you can't think for yourself
    b. To survive, you follow the herd (where Apple is happy to lead you)

That's my astute observation about you.

Having said that, I do repeat that you once found an error in my
statements, which was that the percentages were actually ten times *lower*
than I had said they were (due to a decimal point mistake on my part).

For that I profusely thanked you Chris.

If you truly find an error in my part, I'm *happy* to acknowledge it,
Chris. Remember, I'm nothing like you are.

    Nothing.

You've never dealt with someone like me Chris who is completely unlike you.
I'm not ashamed to admit when/if I'm wrong.

    You are.

From my interactions with Chris he
doesn't seem like an Apple apologist since even he questions some of
the outlandish claims made by the usual suspects.

I try to be even-handed despite my preference for Apple.

With all the bullshit that you spout aside, Chris, I agree with
badgolferman that of all the Apple trolls, you're the least troll'ish.

For that, I openly & publicly give you credit for thinking for yourself. Instead of being a mindless herd animal such as the rest of them are.
