• New iPhone 15 Pro BSOD On First Power-On

From sms@21:1/5 to All on Thu Oct 5 17:30:31 2023
This morning I was at a mechanical shop that we are contracting with and
the owner had a new iPhone 15 Pro that had just arrived. When he powered
it on there was haptic feedback when he touched the screen but the
display was not working. He was ready to return the phone.

I showed him how to do a forced restart (volume up > volume down > hold
the side button until the logo appears then release) and that worked.

What would cause a brand new device to behave like that? If I hadn't
been there he would have had to make a trip to the Apple Store where
they would have done the same thing.

More likely he would have asked around, or checked online, and someone
would have told him to try the restart sequence.

As to why? Apple ship a million or so of these every 2 days. Something
is going to fall outside Six-Sigma on the order of 1,000 - 10,000
devices. (Latter is a wAG - could be better or worse).

This will only disappoint sms. He was fishing for more "Apple never

I hear they're offline re-grouping with lots of support-group style help.

person- I'm Arlen, and I am a troll.
    group- "Hi Arlen!"
person- I've been struggling lately with my trolling. I was once quite
good at it, but I've run into some, well, BULLIES!
group- "What do you mean, 'BULLIES', Arlen?"
person- Well, it's very humiliating, because when ever I speak the Rudi Giuliani 'TRUTH IS NOT TRUTH' truth, they bombard me with the honest,
    traceable facts!

Group Recites - "Grant me the Serenity, to accept the things I can not
change, Courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom to know the

person- "Aw F---k that's not what I came here for!!!!"

LOL, in Silicon Valley that would be the case. I'm presently in Texas
working on a project. Smart guys when it comes to fabricating huge steel structures for the project I'm on, but not into phone stuff other than
as users. People sometimes forget that there are a lot of people that
just want their devices to work and are not going to be researching
online how to fix their devices. I recall when my sister-in-law moved
from a Samsung Galaxy phone to an iPhone and she would absolutely not
believe me when I explained to her that she could no longer set separate volumes for calls and notifications. She went to an Apple Store at the
mall which told her the same thing of course. While there is a jailbreak
tweak that provides this functionality she was not able or willing to go
that route (see 11a in the document <https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JznrWfGJDA8CYVfjSnPTwfVy8-gAC0kPyaApuJTcUNE/edit#bookmark=id.jpbsgvomr5r0>.

You think that only people in SV know how smartphones work?

Looking at your past posts, it's clear that the more long winded your
reply, the more likely you are talking out of your hat and/or making
stuff up to cover for your bs.
