Is there really no way to add Photos app's images directly into iOS'
Calendar app in iPhone's iOS v16.6? Or did I miss something? :(

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)

I guess I am not totally clear what it is you want to do, but if you mean adding a photo to an event; set the photos app and the calendar side by
side. Then create the event and drag the photo to the attachment field and
it will go right in there. Or are you looking to do something else?

I don't think it is obvious exactly how you want to use the photo, but
you can add a photo IN an event with the "Add attachment" field. On my
phone it doesn't go directly to the photo album for possible locations,
but to the items in what would be the ICloud directory. If you want an
image from there, you have to make sure it is in there first.

Once you tap on the event in the calendar, the image doesn't pop up, but
is shown as an attachment down at the bottom that you can tap on to
    bring it up.

Yes, iphone is much more limited. If you use the send to
function, then tap more ... there is no option to send to the
    calendar.

I guess if they put everything in the send to menu, it would be
a chore digging through it to find what you want. iPhone is
already too much like that. It's just a simple telephone. It's
    not a supercomputer.

I'm not sure why you'd want a picture in the calendar app, but
OP probably has a very good reason.

Cue nospam .... Not needed, and nobody wants it !

I don't use it really either in the way most people do as a backup. But
it is there on you iphone and it will do what you want. There are other
ways to look at it other than using icloud, but would probably require a
more knowledgable person than me to explain. For example on my phone I
have an app folder named files. I don't remember if I renamed it this,
because that's how I use it, or that's how it came. But it gives
locations to look for files "On My Phone" or "iCloud Drive". I can save
a photo directly to this place with I think three quick actions, and
then add it in the calendar app as you would like. So it in fact does
exactly what you want, you just have to put the file there first, which
is a simple 3 second step.

You don’t need to use ICloud, although for me that makes things a whole lot easier overall. Just save the image temporarily in your files app on your
phone (in the “on my IPhone” section”). Then just use the add attachment option as described above and it will be in your event.

image previews? I only see them as file attachments (e.g., PNG screen
    shot file).

It does not show image previews, but just touching the attachment will
display the image in a separate window.

Face it. This is simply another feature that is not needed, and
    nobody wants.

And of course, if apple implemented it, the entire universe
