Major carriers are turning to off-peak fare sales and cutting
excess capacity in the second half of the year.

Airfare dropped in March, according to the latest inflation read.
    ...
On a series of earnings calls, they said the reasons range from
President Donald Trump's whipsawing tariff policies to volatile

My daughter flew in for her grandmother's birthday (NYC to SFO, then
back). The timing could have just as easily been traveling for Easter.
Both ways she had an empty seat next to her.

    Not evidence, but supporting ancedote.

Wait, I was informed by "reputable sources" aka the Internet and news
media, that prices were going to go up and never come back down again.
Even the BBC is running an article about how prices are going up and
being hidden in things like baggage fees.

Or is the real world more complicated than rage bait articles? Asking
    for a friend.
