This is why it won't last. If Trump doesn't realize it, his billionaire friends, or the republican millionaire politicians will one way or another force him to retract.

He will then claim that what ever comes out of it, in terms of
concessions, was what he planned all along, and will then quickly forget
all about it. Then move on to the next target.

I wonder how long it will take though? 1 month, 3 or 12? I bet it will be
over in 3-4 months or so.

I would like to think those at 'his' golf courses are very upset, or
via insider information, know when to buy/sell stocks.

Wait 'til the EU hit American tech companies with reciprocal tariffs in
a few weeks time. The big boys won't be happy, then the pressure to
retract will really start as they have been backing Chump.

For investors it will be a case of buy, buy, buy !!!

Honestly I think I am in agreement with D on this one. But just to play devil's advocate: the war in Ukraine has not gone the way Putin had
intended, but he found himself unable to back out without losing face
or having to admit the mistake. Trump quite admires Putin and might
find himself obliged to soldier forward through the consequences of a
stupid decision, claiming all the while he is right.

Putin is going to do what Putin does. He doesn't give a fuck about
Chump. By the time Chump realizes that it'll be way too late. He's being
played like a violin. The only thing Putin wants is the whole of
    Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the price of coffee is going to go up fast, and I'm not
    happy about it.

As long as the price of tea doesn't go too high, we can live with it. Ha
    Ha.

Some for sure, but not the broad masses, because then it wouldn't be
insider information if it spreads too far.

That means there are people who did lose significant sums and they are not happy now.

What would be even better is if some information was published that showed Trump making huge sells in the market before communicating the tariffs.
That would be hilarious and make some of his allies who did not get the PM
    even angrier. =D

This is a good point! But I'd say that this is not comparable to Putins situation in ukraine. Putin knows that if he loses, he will die. That's
how russian politics works. If he shows weakness, the sharks will smell
    blood.

Trump will not die if he backs down on the tariffs. He will just blame
europe and/or china, and as long as he can get some kind of symbolic
"revenge" he'll be fine. At worst, he'll just pretend it never happened,
and that he won, and ban anyone who says otherwise.

Meanwhile, the price of coffee is going to go up fast, and I'm not

This is highly troubling! Note that this is, however, not the first time
in history when coffee prices reached this level. This tends to happen cyclically, and if you check the price of coffee that past 70 years,
you'll see occasional spikes like the one we have. I bet that coffee
prices will be lower 2 years from now.

They cannot do that. All of the EU is dependent on Office 365, Google
    cloud, Azure and AWS.

If the EU goes down that route, Trump will just add a global sales tax on
cloud services, and the EU will basically grind to a halt.

    I like this!

My business earn money by promoting alternatives to US cloud services, so
this would be excellent news for me! =D

Tea has been jumping in price during the past year anyway...
they were blaming poor weather in India and covid for slowing
down production... I reckon it was just price gouging from the
manufacturers as they always find some reason to justify raising
    prices...

Now when our shopping goes up we're just going to blame
President Trump and wish that dude on the roof had a better
    aim!!!

It would be nice if this could be done....they are the T-Borg backers
    for lower taxes in US.
