    Cory Booker breaks the record for longest Senate speech, previously
    held by segregationist Strom Thurmond.

    =========================
    It wasn't until 25 hours and 5 minutes later that the 55-year-old
    senator, a former football tight end, finished speaking and limped off
    the floor. It set the record for the longest continuous Senate floor
    speech in the chamber's history. Booker was assisted by fellow
    Democrats who gave him a break from speaking by asking him questions
    on the Senate floor.

    A stunt, and it accomplished nothing. Nothing at all. I consider it performance art, nothing more.

    I'm appalled at how inept the Dems seem to be at present. New parties
    now, the ones we have both suck.

    Guinness World Record ?

    That hasn't been broken by those "superior" white men.

    Ha ha. But if the Dems' strategy is to get into the Guiness Book, they
    should have gone for something outrageous, like eating hotdogs, or
    making a wig out of bumblebees.

    In the world of politics, it would have been no less effective than
    what they actually accomplished, which was:

    zippo, nada, zilch, diddly squat, bupkis. [help me out here]
