Without the US, European nations cannot guarantee anything
militarily; let alone security versus Russia. The only thing
that will stop Russia in that scenario is themselves.

No nation in Europe would act against Russia without an 'okay'
of some description from the USA.

They are afraid of the big bad wolf...

Even the Europeans don't seem to believe they can do it. And European militaries are nowhere near strong enough to be an actual threat.
