Ms. Sassoon, 38, made a startling accusation in her letter. She wrote
that the mayor's lawyers had "repeatedly urged what amounted to a quid
pro quo, indicating that Adams would be in a position to assist with
the Department's enforcement priorities only if the indictment were
    dismissed."

The NYT reports that Acting Deputy AG Emil Bove coached Mayor Eric
Adams' attorneys on what to argue in order to get the charges
dismissed (namely, that the charges were interfering with the mayor's
ability to cooperate with Trump's immigration crackdown)

Now, is Pamela Jo Bondi going to support T-Borg's "deep state"? =========================

On another note, keep an eye on Dale Ho (a wildcard here)

The decision gave the justice department what it needed to seek the
end of the Adams case and the attorney general, Pam Bondi, said in an appearance on Fox News that the mayor's case "is being dismissed
today", although that power rests with the presiding US district
judge, Dale Ho, in New York. Ho has limited ability to deny the
request but could still order a hearing to put the decision under
    scrutiny.

Pamela's rhetoric suggested she was out of the loop (from tidbits I'm
    aware of)
    =======================================

Why Bondi? Why is my wrath not limited to Emil Bove, the acting
assistant attorney general? After all, it was Bove (apparently rhymes
with "no way") who wrote the instantly infamous memo ordering Danielle
Sassoon, the acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New
York, to dismiss all charges against New York Mayor Eric Adams "as
soon as is practicable." (Sassoon quit instead.)

True enough, Bove's Bond-villain name and his broodingly pharaonic
countenance help finger him as an easy bad guy. But read the damn
memo. Here's how it starts: "You [Sassoon] are directed, as authorized
by the Attorney General, to dismiss the pending charges in United
    States vs. Adams."

As authorized by the attorney general. There it is. The top law
enforcement officer of the United States, five days on the job,
ordered that corruption charges, painstakingly assembled over a
multiyear period by prosecutors in New York's Southern District, be
    dismissed.

The young prosecutor behaved well in resigning, not so her bosses at

The resignations of prosecutors at the U.S. Attorney's office for the
Southern District of New York this week are playing in the press as
typical "resistance" to Donald Trump. They're far from that, and the
real story speaks well of the prosecutors but sends a rotten message
to any lawyer who might want to join the Trump Administration.

None of this reflects well on the Bondi Justice Department. Rather
than accept a meeting with the leader of the most important U.S.
Attorney's office, the new AG passed the buck to her acting deputy.
That deputy then showed awful political judgment
