Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward's Longtime Manhattan Penthouse Lists
    for $9.95 Million

The Hollywood couple, who primarily lived in Westport, Connecticut,
bought the apartment in the early 1980s as a pied-a-terre

Located on Fifth Avenue, the 15th-floor apartment overlooks the
Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir in Central Park. It occupies half
of the top floor of the co-op building, which was built in 1925 by
James E.R. Carpenter, who was known for designing luxury high-rise
apartments, many of which were on the Upper East Side.

Off the private elevator landing is the living room, featuring a
wood-burning fireplace, a hidden bar and park views. Glass doors lead
out onto one of the two terraces--the penthouse has more than 2,000
square feet of private outdoor space, according to the listing with
Noble Black and Jennifer Kaufman Stillman of Douglas Elliman. They
    weren't available for comment.

Wow... 2000 sqft in New York, that's a waaaaay more Trumpish apartment
than my own little cubby hole. Very Trumpish indeed!

    Trumpish apartment

Many years ago, Trump was charging around $50,000.00/yearly (US) as a maintenance/utility fee....unknown if property tax included.

That is a Coop, so they share expenses...but if you have to ask about
yearly expenses, you most likely can not afford it.

Very interesting! Thank you for the additional information! Although it
does seem a bit less Trumpish. ;)

Ahhh... and how Trumpish was their _real_ home? Surely it must have been bigger! Anythning less, and they would not be american celebrities! ;)

277 North Ave, Westport, CT 06880
    Year built 1763
    6 bed 5.5 bath 6,545 sqft https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/277-North-Ave_Westport_CT_06880_M42356-37989

Stand in the center of the enchanting 10.46-acre estate at 277 and 275
North Ave. in the Coleytown section of town, and harken back to the
sounds of 18th-century, horse-drawn wooden plows clopping through its
flax and corn fields. Two centuries later, imagine the laughter of
Paul Newman's children as they sledded down the hillside on the back
    of their famous father.

Influential farmers, artists and actors have inhabited that large
property at the corner of North Avenue and Coleytown Road, currently
on the market. The site will be sold as a whole or in two separate
    parcels.

The property is rich with Colonial and contemporary history.
Generations of the Coley family lived there for almost 200 years. It's significant that it remained in the Coley family until 1920, according
to Bob Weingarten, the Westport Historical Society's house history
chairman. David Coley purchased a large area in what was then
Fairfield in the early 1700s. That area became known as Coley Village,
then Coley Town, and finally the Coleytown area of Westport.

Still, that's a lot of outdoor space for NYC! Especially near central park.

It was on the top floor: Penthouse. Having a nice view...priceless.

    near central park

    Early 1980s, a studio rented for around $1,000.00/month (US)...no
vehicle parking [someone I knew then rented a studio].
