The State Duma has approved the idea of sending women to
the SVO zone to care for wounded soldiers
In Bashkortostan, they proposed creating women's battalions, including
from relatives of fallen soldiers, to work in military hospitals.
The proposal was also supported by State Duma deputies, in particular,
the head of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children
Nina Ostanina. In her opinion, the presence of a woman at the bedside
of a wounded person always creates a certain warmth - essentially, the
presence of a mother, because mothers do not always have the
opportunity to care for their wounded sons in hospitals.
She also noted that women who lost their sons or husbands in the
Northern Military District will give three times as much warmth to the
wounded soldiers.
The head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and
Veterans' Affairs, Yaroslav Nilov, said that such a practice already
exists in Russia within the framework of volunteer movements.
The Chief Federal Inspector for the Republic of Bashkortostan, Aleksey Kasyanov, noted that if women are sent to hospitals from the Russian
Ministry of Defense, they should receive the status of combat
veterans, which also implies benefits.
