In the coming days, Russia may launch a counteroffensive involving
troops from the DPRK, the New York Times writes. The goal is to regain
    control over the Kursk region

The offensive will involve 50,000 Russian and North Korean troops. The participation of North Korean troops is evidenced by joint exercises
with the Russian army west of Kursk, Ukrainian sources tell the New
York Times. According to U.S. officials, North Korea has sent more
than 10,000 troops. The troops are wearing Russian uniforms, U.S.
    Defense Department officials said.

According to the newspaper, Russia is training the North Koreans in
artillery fire, basic infantry tactics and trench clearing. The North
Koreans will fight as light infantry, without the advantages of
armored vehicles. Some American officials believe that North Korea may
order its troops to halt at the border while Russian troops advance.
