Donald Trump revealed in a new interview with the Wall Street Journal
that he threatened to strike "the center of Moscow" if Putin
    invaded Ukraine.

"I said, 'Vladimir, if you go into Ukraine, Im going to hit you
so hard, you wont even believe it. Im going to strike the very
    center of damn Moscow.'"

He continued, "I told him, 'Were friends. I dont want to do
this, but I have no choice. You're going to get hit so hard, itll
blow those damn domes right off your head.'"

According to Trump, Putin responded, "No way."

My initial thought is that this is vaguely unbelievable and doesn't
square with his actual treatment of Russia and Ukraine, or his language.
    Good story though.

According to indicates a make believe story.
    =============

    What is a make-believe story?

a pretending that what is not real is real. a fiction writer's
childish willingness to immerse himself in make-believe

I don't know much about this topic,

"Dementia is a chronic condition that causes a gradual decline in
cognitive abilities, such as thinking, remembering, and reasoning."

but I wonder if those affected get mixed up and say what others might think/say. He has a previous habit of exaggeration, which existed in
    his comments.

Sadly, those Trump voters can't evaluate his statements....
