Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly I. Antonov left his
post and returned to Moscow. It is noteworthy that none of the
high-ranking officials even said goodbye to him.

The farewell reception and dinner required by procedure were not
    held.
No one even spoke to him on the phone.

This is the first time in diplomatic history that this has happened.

Antonov was Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation from
February 2011 to December 2016 and actively participated in the
annexation of Crimea, for which he was sanctioned. He went down in
history as the only ambassador under sanctions.

The new Russian ambassador to the United States will be appointed
    after the presidential elections.

He said, "Project Ukraine' is dragging American politicians only
further into an abyss, from which it is increasingly difficult to get
    out,"

Like Russia has the right to an exclusive war....with no outsiders
    butting in.

He argued that "Washington is continuing a dangerous discussion about
the possibility of giving Ukrainians a permission to strike deep into
Russian territory with Western long-range missiles."

Why not, fair is fair...knowingly bombing civilian targets shows
Russia is not concerned about being ethical/legal aspects.

Oh, here again, Russia is asserting a "we have an exclusive right" to
take others' lands without outside interference.
