Strange as it may sound, he has a point. However, I doubt highly that is
what he meant when he first said it.

Success may have been reached with a pinch or more of serendipity. And
the inverse is as Dr. John might say, "Right Place, Wrong Time"

Heroism or being successful both require motivation, and both require
relevant skill sets. But acting beyond the call of duty for assisting
others is generally absent in successful persons.

Hey give the sadsack a break. When it was time for him to serve his
country back in the Vietnam War era, he was currently suffering extreme menstrual cramps and possibly bone spurs, which were very ouchy and
sometimes made him cry. And that's why he was exempted from war.

I heard he was given a YUGE medal for participation, as did everyone on
his short little bus. The Presidential Medal of Pansy.

To be fair though and in all seriousness, he's got a point that getting
a medal in exchange for being killed is a poor trade.

Trump stated - "When you get the Presidential Medal of Freedom it is
usually for other things, like you have achieved great success."

I don't believe Trump's idea of "great success" is related to the
Presidential Medal of Freedom. "Great success" tends to be associated
with an individual's achievement(s)...I'm not aware of Andrew Carnegie
getting the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Note the "Freedom" word
