From JAB@21:1/5 to All on Tue Jun 18 21:53:11 2024
A mysterious monolith has appeared in the Nevada desert over the
weekend, sparking speculation as to what it may be and who is behind
    it.

The structure was spotted by the Las Vegas Police Department, who said
they saw it during a search and rescue mission north of the Las Vegas
    Valley.
    ...
    ...
The monolith is similar to other similarly puzzling ones that appeared
    around the globe in 2020.

The tall, rectangular, reflective structure was spotted near Gass
Peak, a hiking area in the Nevada desert just about an hour north of
    Las Vegas.

    It was from
Utah originally. People took it down because it was attracting bad
tourism to the area and donated it to a BLM something or another. IDK
if this is the same one. Please this is stupid enough as it is. I know
we all want a sign but glass is not it.

    1. we already had that whole thing, repeating the whole stunt won't make
    it better

    2. if there ever was an alien race of beings sending monoliths to earth
for uplifting we'd totally miss out on that on account of there being so
    many fake monoliths around

Two excellent points. I hadn't even thought of the second one. Got me thinking, it's cool and artistic but basically just an implementation of someone else's idea. Do better, artists.
