Trump's Attempt to Delay His Jan. 6 Trial Receives a Double Blow

On Friday, two federal courts in Washington rejected parallel claims
by former President Donald Trump for immunity from the legal process,
dealing a blow to Trump's effort to delay his March 4 criminal trial
date. In doing so, those courts fortified our constitutional
republic's basic message: No one, including a former president, is
    above the law.

One Trump defeat on Friday came in his appeal of three civil actions
against him for allegedly inciting Jan. 6's violence. An even more
important loss came hours later from federal district court Judge
Tanya Chutkan. Trump's criminal prosecution is scheduled to begin in
her courtroom in March, and she rejected Trump's request to dismiss
the case based on absolute "presidential immunity." Crucially, the
ruling in the civil case bolsters the ruling in the criminal case at a
    critical juncture.

No worries, I've got Captain Douchebag's next legal defense right here:

"he's not a former president, he's the current president because blah
blah blah stolen election blah etc."

Hasn't any one else noticed that running for re-election constitutes a concession that he was not elected in 2020?

    Amendment XXII

    1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more
    than twice...

And while we're here, the argument that subjectingprosecuting a
candidate to criminal proscution is election interference has it all
backwards. It's better argument that running for office while under
    indictment constitutes obstruction of justice.

He's hoping to make it to the election finish line to freeze or
eliminate those indictments. His current course of action, which has
always been his legal strategy is to delay the proceedings.

Except for that Florida judge, I don't believe federal courts, Appeal
courts, or SCOTUS will delay any matter before them.

Logical reasoning is not allowed in Republican circles. I'm not aware
of the media hammering this point.
