    Looking forward to that upcoming Elvis+Taylor Swift duet.

    If nothing else, this shows that the actors' guild strike was 100%
    legitimate. If given the opportunity, management would pay once to
    "copy" your likeness and voice, and then monetize it while you earn
    nothing.

    This case is only slightly different in that I'm sure Ringo and the
    surviving Beatles also probably made a decent chunk of change. But
    what's to stop Peter Jackson from making another Beatles album once the
    rest of them are dead too?

    It wouldn't be Peter Jackson per se, it'll be the rights holders of the
    Beatles catalogue of music (and the personal demo tapes left in boxes) as
    well as the suits that run the 'business' of the Beatles in the absence of Lennon [Yoko]/McCartney/Harrison/Starkey.

    There is copyrighted music, but I don't know if AI "music" would be
    covered by copyrighted music.

    Some moments after posting above, I suddenly remembered that duet
    Natalie Cole does with her deceased father, Nat "King." Somehow, I
    find that one enjoyable and more reasonable. I'm going to have to
    noodle on why I distinguish between the two cases and am more
    comfortable with only one of them.
