When I worked at McDonalds in Illinois in 1959, burgers were 15 cents, cheeseburgers 19 cents, shakes $0.20 and fries a dime. So a
cheeseburger, shake and fries for under 4 bits. There were no Big
Macs or quarter-pounders or anything else. (I forget if there were
carbonated drinks -- I think ss but not certain.)

And the golden arches sign read, "Over a million sold".

I recall those days, but a person had to walk up to order, where those
glass windows are located..

and selling Big Macs. I don't recall when the dine in buildings were
built, but SUV vehicles are shown.

If you account for inflation, the prices pretty well match up. Say,
from 1973 (In the photo JAB posted), coffee is the modern equivalent of
$1 or so, big mac is about $4, large fry $3-change, etc.
