China's quest for human genetic data spurs fears of a DNA arms race

The pandemic helped China scoop up DNA from countries around the world

Most of Europe was in lockdown in April 2020 when a plane arrived in
the Serbian capital bearing a well-timed gift from the People's
Republic of China. Inside was a Chinese invention called the Fire-Eye,
a sophisticated portable lab that could detect coronavirus infections
from tiny genetic fragments the pathogen leaves behind.

And that, as Serbians soon discovered, was the least of its
    capabilities.

The Fire-Eye excelled not only at cracking the genetic code for
viruses, but also for humans, with machines that can decipher genetic instructions contained within the cells of every person on Earth,
according to its Chinese inventors. In late 2021, with the pandemic
still raging, Serbian officials announced they were working with a
Chinese company to convert the lab into a permanent facility with
plans to harvest and curate the entire genomes, or genetics
    blueprints, of Serbian citizens.

    RE: DNA arms race

    Really...for the perfect man/woman, I presume...

    RE: People's Republic of China

Really....the people don't think its a "square deal."

Shocker, the Chinese released the pandemic on purpose... Who could have guessed it??

Economically, it cost them billions...I doubt the "on purpose"
    thinking.

In any government generally, "consequences" are considered before
acting. I do not think they are a bunch of dumbfucks.

I suspect that they knew what they were doing, and benefits were
weighed... But of course, I'm speculating.

What was their objective....fuck the world except them?

How would a person predict which countries would suffer the
    most/least? https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/sweden-covid-and-excess-deaths-a-look-at-the-data/

Scientifically, too many variables to predict what would happen.

As an aside, US got most of its Covid from travelers to/from European countries, not China. Hard to predict....US could have shut down
European flight/etc pathways earlier I suspect.
