Lauren Boebert ditches the MAGA thing in Colorado

With her seat in danger, the Coloradan is starting to sound like a
    completely different person at home.

Lauren Boebert is one of Washington's loudest proponents of impeaching
Joe Biden. On a recent day here in her district, though, she rarely
    talked about it.
    ...
    ...
It's no accident that Boebert's profile in her home state these days
is diverging from the Freedom Caucus rabble-rouser she's known as on
the Hill. After squeaking through a recount to a second term last fall
against Democrat Adam Frisch -- Boebert won by just 546 votes == it
became clear that her rhetorical bomb-throwing was wearing on GOP
    voters.

She also just got outed by the NYPost for dating a Democrat, apparently.

Scary to think all this bad governance is nothing but performance art
by shitsnacks trying to stay employed as politicians. "The people
require me to be a moron" - Chris Christie, Sarah Palin, others.

"How do I feel about that? How do the people want me to feel?" -
    Hillary Clinton.

Benefits and pay are good, so many will adjust their behavior/attitude
    to keep employed.

I've wondered what is the total yearly cost for a single politician
(for them, and their support people).

I strongly doubt it's the pay and benefits. I'm betting it's the power
and opportunity for financial opportunities well beyond the weekly
government check. But mostly I think it's ego and avarice for power.

Someone said once, the folks who are interesting in governing are
typically the last kind of people you'd actually want to govern. And
the people who you would want governing have no interest in the job.

I used to think stupid people were the weak link in democracy, but I increasingly think the paragraph above is a close second.

For those with wealth, this may be true for some/many, but for Lauren
Boebert, she ain't got the funds to invest.

Old news, policy decisions can affect what's happening on Wall Street. Congressional folks should not be allowed to invest

100% agree. I think they're forced to have their stock portfolios
managed by blind trusts while theyre in power, but we've seen lots of
episodes where they've sold off stock just before major announcements
    are made, basically insider trading.
