Yes however in the county he lives in when changes are made to the infrastructure, the entire house
needs to be re-inspected and issued a CO. getting grandfathered in requires special permission from
the county which is a royal PITA. He was able to accomplish it though.

As far as the 'service advantage' how much service does a new car really require these days? for the first 120,000 miles you're talking oil changes and topping up fluids. Not a real big expense there.

Pretty much and with the bumper to bumper or even just powertrain warrantees offered these days
costs are pretty low and are only for normal wear items like brakes.

And think of all the money you will save on the price of the ICE car.... 10s of thousands in most cases, along with lower taxes, lower insurance costs, lower financing costs.....

Insurance companies are totaling EV's even if it's been involved in a relatively minor accident
because the parts are very expensive.

That's the biggest part of this scam. Joe Biden is destroying the fossil fuel industry in the US
and taking the country from being energy independent to a dependency on foreign countries, some of
    whom are our adversaries.

    It's lunacy.

    sometimes
even then, you are most likely looking at a service panel upgrade. The >>>> older
your home is, the bigger and bigger that issue becomes. until it gets
    to
    the
point you are talking a 100% wiring replacement for every light,
    switch,
outlet throughout the entire home, and you are likely also talking
    plaster
and lathe board walls. which means basically gutting the entire home
    down
    to
the studs and starting all over. You also better home you don't have to >>>> replace or add any of the 2x4s because in that case you have 2
    options..
either replace all of them along that wall, or cut down a 2x6 to
    exactly
match the width of the 2x4s that are there. Then while the walls are
    open
you will probably have to install fire breaks, insulation and so on.
    Quickly
gets to the point it's cheaper to demo the whole home and rebuilt...

Who has that kind of money just laying around?

A friend of mine just went through this kind of nightmare to get
    charging
    station installed in his
1930's built home in upstate NY.
The building inspector and UL inspector were merciless.

No, they were requiring code compliance... which is their job.

Yes however in the county he lives in when changes are made to the infrastructure, the entire house
needs to be re-inspected and issued a CO.

That's pretty typical of any major alterations in the home that involve structural or major changes in the required systems of the home.

getting grandfathered in requires special permission from
the county which is a royal PITA. He was able to accomplish it though.

Yep, and you can never be assured you will get it.... until you have the document actually in your hands. I know of a case where it was approved only
to be countermanded before it was issued.

The real problem with EV is for people who live in cities, or in large
    apartment complexes. There
won't be enough chargers to go around.

Bingo, and then you get into broken chargers, damaged charges and/or
vandalized chargers. I mean there is a LOT of copper in those charger
    leads
and it's really easy to cut them off.

In NYC for example most people don't have a driveway or garage and may
    end
    up parking 5 streets
away from where they live because parking is at a premium.

Yep.. and now let's throw in trying to park beside a charger...

A person is lucky to get a parking spot within 10 blocks of their house
let alone in front of it.

Yea, and I understand thieves just love cutting off those cables for the
couple of dollars they get for the copper.

So what are they to do?
Live at the public charging stations?
    The entire concept is ridiculous.

It is. We simply have neither the means no infrastructure to support such
nonsense at the rate that is being mandated.

It's not even close to being supported properly.

And even if it was, we simply don't have the power capacity to handle that. Would take a 100% increase in capacity while at the same time we are working
to transition to 'green energy' the worst part is the current thinking that they will be charged at night will, if green energy is successful, become
the MOST expensive time to charge. Why? because solar panels won't be giving you zip. from mid morning solar panels are going to be doing little or
    nothing.

Indeed, I understand the sales of EVs are WAY DOWN, as more people
    realize
their short comings. to the point that dealers are REFUSING to accept
deliveries because the cars they have on the lot aren't moving.

The dealer's lots are full of unsold EVs. Tesla is the exception.

Pretty much, but a Tesla is for people with more money than sense.

As far as the 'service advantage' how much service does a new car really
require these days? for the first 120,000 miles you're talking oil
    changes
and topping up fluids. Not a real big expense there.

Pretty much and with the bumper to bumper or even just powertrain
    warrantees offered these days
costs are pretty low and are only for normal wear items like brakes.

True, and it's not that expensive to have the brake pads and rotors turned.. and I will note EVs will have about the same serve re requirement.. yes
you have regenerative braking, but you also have a whole lot more mass to
stop when you have to use the brakes.

And think of all the money you will save on the price of the ICE car....
    10s
of thousands in most cases, along with lower taxes, lower insurance
    costs,
    lower financing costs.....

Insurance companies are totaling EV's even if it's been involved in a relatively minor accident
because the parts are very expensive.

Yep, and if that people don't think that will translate to higher rates for
    EVs they are fools.

Meanwhile pollution in China is increasing at a rate to negate EVERYTHING
the rest of the world is doing to try to reduce emissions and where to
    the
bulk of solar panels come from?

That's the biggest part of this scam. Joe Biden is destroying the fossil
    fuel industry in the US
and taking the country from being energy independent to a dependency on foreign countries, some of
    whom are our adversaries.

    It's lunacy.

And the worse part is we're not even cutting pollution... we are simply exporting it abroad and then generating more emissions to ship the stuff
    here.

It's the typical liberal nonsense, as long as they are pissing in the other
end of the pool, it's not a problem for the people at this end of the pool.
