  • Partnership Agreement?

    My GF and I are thinking about living together. We are both adults more
    than 70yo.

    It has been suggested that we sign a partnership agreement outlining the arrangement. My house is owned by me and I am willing to pay upkeep,
    taxes, etc. Also I want to specify a length of stay if the relationship
    ends (probably with my death).

    Any ideas, opinions, etc

    This is probably doable, but the two of you need to talk to a real
    lawyer who is familiar with real estate and inheritance laws in the
    place where you live.

    I think what you're looking for is what's called a cohabitation
    agreement, which is like a pre-nup without the nup. The one thing I
    would suggest is that even before you do this, make sure you have a good
    estate plan in place beforehand with a will that documents very clearly
    what happens to your property in case you pre-decease your partner, plus
    the other usual documents like health care directives etc.
