I think your central premise that Trump will be disqualified but somehow still win the electoral college is wrong...
All he needs is one or two major setbacks in court, and I think it's effectively
over for him.

Prediction is a dicey proposition, especially of the future.
Your certainty is misplaced.
I'm not making any predictions, merely speculating about
possibilities, in this historically unprecedented situation.
I'll propose something slightly more credulous than the surreal
script above. Trump is DQ, yet he vows to continue his campaign.
Count on it. In which case, the constitutional subtleties will be
chewed to grits. For the public, it's a Teachable Moment -
Now, no one will vote for an ineligible candidate, except in protest.
So that sly fox offers a deal: "Vote for me, and I will instruct my
electors to vote for my apostle, the One. He'll be my agent, the
Movement shall go on!"
What, a secret name in a sealed envelope? Nobody buys
this. So he goes public: Elon Musk! Thus the deal:
the voters understand, a vote for Trump is a vote for Musk.
November 5: Donald wins!
His ego inflates so much, his head explodes.
The voters accept the deal, and prefer Musk to Biden.
The Trumpkins say: we pulled the lever for Trump!
An obvious weak link: are Trump's electors legally bound
to vote as he orders? Doubtful. But given this scenario,
where it's understood the voters chose Musk, it's hard to
imagine they'd go rogue.
PS (replace [whoever] for Musk)
