• IRS help is disgusting these days

From Noel@21:1/5 to All on Sun Oct 29 13:53:28 2023
I try to be as brief as possible...I am a senior and have done my own taxe's for over 40 years, manually. Recently, I had to enter for the first time a $3000 capital gain loss on my Federal and NY state forms. It shows where to enter the loss, but no
where on those forms does it show the deduction of it. Of course the IRS with their software figure it out. I wrote to them by certified mail on how did they arrived at a certain figure, and all i get is a letter from them that it woud take 60 days or so
to hear from them. Fast Forward, after waiting that long, I recieved another letter saying it would take another 60 days before they will respond, or call the phone number they provided. I called that number several times since, and all I get is someone
asking me to verify its me by asking certain figures i had entered on my forms....refund, Line 7 entry and etc. When i offered those figures and missed on just one, they abrubtly disconnect me. So calling is useless. This country is turning into a 3rd
    world one.
