  • Open electrical box, with wiring exposed - what is it?

    I recently purchased a condo. In the living room is an open and exposed electrical box, with a white wire, a black wire and an exposed ground. My condo association doesn't know what it is... A previous tenant in the building said it was for an "humid-
    stat" - that it would turn on the bathroom exhaust fan when the apartment got too humid.

    I purchased a Dewstop auto humid-stat, but it comes with a fourth wire to attach to the "fan power line"...

    Where is that in my setup??

    So really my question then is that really a place for an humid-stat?
