If you have a medical emergency, stop reading, log off, and dial 911!
The sooner this evil man is a civilian again, the better.
Biden wasn't a great president by any metric. A general consensus of historians who like to quantify presidential "greatness" put him about
a 23... middle 'C'... passing, but not outstanding either way.
Inflation is endemic to any study of economics... it happens. There
has never been an economy where the medium of exchange (i.e.: "money") maintained a constant value; this does not happen! It is desirable
for it to do so, but it won't. The reason we're seeing inflation
increase is because our legislators (in their wisdom) spend more than
they take in. This practice tends to keep taxes low and legislators
in their jobs; however, it has its limits. After a half-century of
deficit spending, we are now hitting those limits... and they manifest
in inflation. If you print lots of money with nothing upon which to
base it, the value of the money will drop... obviously to *me*,
anyway.
The only way to control inflation is to balance the budget and begin
retiring outstanding national debt... and this means raising taxes.
Anybody who claims he (or she) will "fix" it quickly and painlessly is
trying to hold back the tide by executive order; it won't work!
I suppose we'll see how well the Donald will do at controlling
government debt. I *do* hope he does better than he did last time,
but I doubt it. He has (or will have, if congress doesn't stand up to
him, which I also doubt) a cabinent full of people whose only
qualification is the ability to kowtow to the Donald. I am hopeful,
but not at all optimistic.
