David did not die of heart failure, or liver failure (as PaulKing has posted elsewhere), and he did not take HAART for many years before he was a dissident.
David died from advancing CMV (Cytomegalovirus) infection in his CNS
(Central Nervous System - spine and brain).
He did take Viramune and Trizivir for a few months shortly before his death. I am David's partner of seven years and participated in every aspect of his health decisions. Please feel free to email me with any questions or questionable posts you may see about him.
