At my recent annual kidney specialist appointment, he
said that my creatinine had gone up from about 180,
where it has been for the last ten years, to 209. He
said that resulted in a calculated eGFR of 29. I later
used an online calculator and got 31. But in any case
that puts me on the boundary between CKD stage 3b
and CKD stage 4, whereas for the last ten years,
after I stopped taking lithium. it has been solidly 3b.

But he said that it could be a spurious result and
asked me to repeat the blood test in mid-April,
and if it remains high we would consult further.
The recent high creatinine could have been due
to the fact that I stayed up all night the night before
my blood test and may have been slightly dehydrated.
But I do feel more tired on average recently than usual,
though I thought that was due to a lack of exercise.
