• O.T. - Moving bookmarks and My Documents from Win 7 hd to Win 10 hd.

From Robert in CA@21:1/5 to All on Mon Dec 11 19:41:22 2023
I thought the previous post was getting too long.

For example; this is what I was thinking,.. could I
export My Bookmarks and copy My Documents
from Win 7 using a Patriot? Then switch the hd's
in the 780 and put in my Win 10 hd we made and
import My Bookmarks and paste My Documents
in the Windows 10 hd C: drive?

That's how I moved them from the 8500 to the 780
but Win 10 is laid out differently so I don't know how
    to navigate it.

I assume I would paste 'My Documents' in the C: drive
but I would have to find the bookmarks menu to import
    them.

I have to figure out how to locate the C: partition or do
you recommend making a separate D: partition for My
Documents? I don't know how to do that and would the
older mrimgs still work if I did? I don't want to screw things
    up at this point.

I searched for importing bookmarks to Win 10 but it keeps giving me
importing to Chrome. I found this though: Win 10 doesn't seem to have
a import function and only offers Edge and Chrome. It says that FF has a bug?

    https://www.tenforums.com/browsers-email/205777-how-do-i-import-bookmarks-saved-logons-into-firefox-win-10-a.html

Would I use browsing during this or can I just copy/paste directly?

I've watched Win 10 videos but it seems confusing to me. I don't like the
tiles at all. It seems like they made it more difficult to use.

    Here's a list of my hd's:

I thought this was going to be easy.

I know a System Restore couldn't fix the 8500 because it only deals with the OS but could a mrimg restore fix the 8500? I don't plan on doing anything mind you, I just want to know in case things deteriorate and we loose contact. I'd like to know what my
options are. Things are already iffy and the 780 can't post.

Also how do I set FF as my home page in Win 10 and about:blank?

    Thanks,
    Robert

Do you see the google post where we will no longer be able to
post at all after Feb 15, 2024 !

If we are going to do anything with the Win 10 we have to do it now
while were still able to communicate. Once Feb comes we won't be
    able to.

Why are they doing this? Things just keep getting worst. They are shutting
down all communications. I have a feeling this is coming from China.

I unscribed to the newsgroup and re-scribed
to it with a limit of 7000 but it doesn't show
the current posts. This was the nearest I could
find. Was the 7000 too high?
