    I have heard from good sources that the x86_64 pkg is borked also.

    I confirmed locally that the amd64 package is broken too.

    There are several bug reports open about the issue:

    There are apparently two workarounds available:

    Downgrading the emacs packages to the version in testing.

    Installing the emacs-el package too.
