How much RAM do you have installed? This message implies that you either don't have enough RAM or the RAM is malfunctioning.

    Ben Westover

I've got 128 MB RAM, the standard RAM on this model.

It would be interesting to add the new version of Memtest86+ in GRUB
menu, so one could test the RAM at boot, like with some other distros
    (Linux Mint...).

That's probably not enough. When I got my iMac G3, it had 128 MBs in
it, and Arch would not boot, same error. I never tried Debian back
then, but after a RAM upgrade both Arch and Debian booted fine.

I upgraded RAM to 1 Go and it's booting now. Thank you for your help.

I installed Debian, all is OK, excepted with ATI128, Xorg doesn't start.

No, it has been removed because too old and not maintained.

Do you think it has been added again by Adrian?

The email you sent is two years old and says it will be re-added "soon". As you can see, the package is alive and well.

    I used ftp.ports.debian.org, perhaps I should better use deb.debian.org
to have the ATI 128 driver.
