    More input. I installed:

    ii linux-image-6.1.0-29-amd64 6.1.123-1
    amd64 Linux 6.1 for 64-bit PCs (signed)

and I still have no sound. Maybe this is a problem with the firmware files?

    More input:

I found via logs that I had updates to firmware-intel-sound. I
    downgraded to firmware-intel-sound_20230210-5_all.deb, then also
downgraded firmware-sof-signed_2.2.4-1_all.deb . Still no sound (even
on an older kernel), I think that the firmware downgrade did not work
as expected (I got some warnings about directories that could not be
    deleted).

... more input: I tried a Fedora 42 live - and still, it cannot find
any sound card. Problem is not something broken in my
filesystem/package, but something broken in my laptop.

Problem started at the time some firmware upgrade was done. How can I
    know which firmware was flashed?
