• kmail: Sound at sending mail

From Hans@21:1/5 to All on Mon Jul 14 18:40:01 2025
    Dear list,

    is anyone using kmail?

I have added a rule, when a string is in the subject, let us say for
example "advice", then a wav file is played.

But this is also played, when I am sendin a mail with the word "advice" in the headline.

This suddenly appeared, but I could not find, why this happens. Isuppose, it
is a bug in kmail, but be not sure.

Deleting and adding this rule again, let the issue reappear.

Does anyone know about this behaviour? Maybe it is wanted?

    Thanks for any info.

    Best

    Hans

    I don't know what a headline is.

Perhaps make Subject part of the pattern:

    ^Subject: .*advice

    Cheers,
    David.

I don't use kmail, but I wonder if you can filter for "advice in the
    subject" and "not from you"?
