• [SOLVED] Re: Debian-live can not be build missing package

From Hans@21:1/5 to All on Wed Mar 5 16:30:01 2025
I believe, the problem is been caused by wrong informations
in /var/lib/dpkg/info from the native installed debian/stable, where I qant to build it.

ALL *.postinst files are pointing to trixie and not to bookworm (although, the installed packages are all from bookworm).

So, with the view on the official release of trixie in a short time, I will
not bother you any more with my issue.

For the interested: I will next try to correct the files in /var/lib/dpkg/ info, then download a live-file of debian stable and try to build within that environment.

And when trixie is out, the problems will be resolved anyway.

So, thank you all for your help and your efforts to solve my little issue!

I mark it as solved, please do not waste any more time on this!

    Best regards

    Hi Matthias,

you might be correct. I will check it.
By the way: I purged everything and tried "lb config --distribution bookworm" which created a fully new "~/live-build-config/" tree.

Then build again and still got into the same issue. As I already mentioned: The only thing I could explaoin this, would be, if /var/libv/dpkg/info/ *.postinst files are used from my native system.

But as some other op told, this is not the case. The whole chroot is created with debootstrap and nothing is copied from somewhere else.

However, it was mentioned, that I made some mistakes with the native system (what I do not believe), but as this can not be excluded and no developer of debian-live did find a mistake in the software, I am now giving up and do not bother any more.

So I have set this issue to solved.

Personally I believe, the debian-live developers already have set the configurations and dependencies to trixie, majorly because this issue suddenly appeared without any changes by me.

Before then the built went fine, but from one day to the next the issue appeared.

Short for long: I will try some things still (as already mentioned) or wait for trixie.

Thank you very much for all the help, although it is not solved, I did close it, so that people can ccare for other things.

    Best regards

    Hans
