Is there a specific reason why "severity" is translated with
"alvorlighed" in two sentences, but with "vigtighed" in a third
sentence?

Thanks for your interest in the Danish translations.
I am answering in lieu of Joe.
Thanks.
I apologize for not seeing your reply before, but I am not subscribed
to the debian-l10n-danish mailing list.

"Vigtighed" means "importance"
and "alvorlighed" means gravity/graveness. They are both
interchangeable in this context.
I see, but since "severity" is used as a technical term, I think it
should be translated with the same Danish word everywhere.
However, I do not think the
original term "severity" is very good - does e.g. a "wishlist
bug" has any "severity" at all
I do think a wishlist bug has indeed a severity.
A somewhat low severity (namely of level "wishlist"), but a severity
anyway.
and does it make sense to use
the word "severity" when there is none?
I think it would make sense to use the word "severity" even in a
hypothetical case where there is none. It would be a severity equal to
zero, but it would be definable anyway.
However, as I said above, I don't think that there can be a bug with
zero severity. There exist bugs with low severity ("wishlist"
severity), but no bugs with zero severity.
Or, at least, these are the terms and definitions adopted by the Debian
BTS, and apt-listbugs tries to follow the same nomenclature.
"Importance" is more neutral and better.
Maybe, but it's not the term adopted by the Debian BTS.
By the way, if set up my web browser to request the [BTS home page] in
Danish, I see the following sentence:
| Gyldige alvorlighedsgrader er critical, grave, serious, important,
| normal, minor, wishlist, fixed.
which is the Danish translation of
| Valid severities are critical, grave, serious, important, normal,
| minor, wishlist, fixed.
[BTS home page]: <
https://www.debian.org/Bugs/>
Hence, it seems to me that the Danish translation adopted on the BTS
for "severities" is "alvorlighedsgrader".
We should perhaps use the same translation for apt-listbugs (?).
Please let me know.
Thanks for your time!
