• d/copyright for source having MPL-2.0 + "adaptation from ..."

From Fab Stz@21:1/5 to All on Mon Jan 22 22:40:01 2024
    Hello,

We got a rejection from FTP masters asking to mention SUN Microsystems in addition to MPL-2.0.

My question would be, how would you transcribe this into d/copyright given
that the source file upstream is not precise.

Upstream is here (with its issue for that matter referecing the affected
    source file).
    https://github.com/pdeljanov/Symphonia https://github.com/pdeljanov/Symphonia/issues/255

I found [1] which could match but since it's not in upstream's repo I don't really know what is the best.

    Some of the options are:

A: Add SUN Microsystems to the copyright holders for * + Add a license named SUN-G711 with a single line content: "Adapted from work by SUN Microsystems under unrestricted use license."

B: Create a specific section for that file and add SUN Microsystems to the copyright holders + Add a license named SUN-G711 with a single line content: "Adapted from work by SUN Microsystems under unrestricted use license."

C: Like A but with full text license as found in [1]

D: Like B but with full text license as found in [1]

    [1] https://scancode-licensedb.aboutcode.org/sun-source.html

    Which would be best?

Please keep me in copy of the reply.

    Regards
    Fab
