  • Sparc server availability

    If I had a T5240 Server, 2x Ultra Sparc T2 Plus CPU, 32GB RAM available
    and could give remote access to sparc devs would this be useful to anyone
    here?

    If not, what specs would be useful?

    Faster is always better, of course. If you have the possibilities,
    I would recommend obtaining a SPARC T4 or newer as this server is
    still supported by the latest version of Oracle Solaris 11.4 CBE [1].

    Then install Oracle Solaris 11.4 CBE in the primary domain and install
    Debian Linux or Gentoo Linux inside a logical domain (LDOM) [2].

    Once the LDOM is installed, provide root access for it to the GCC Compile
    Farm maintainers [3] so they can configure the LDOM to become part of their machine park available to the open source community. This would really be helpful to support SPARC open-source development.

    You can also, of course, install Debian or Gentoo bare-metal on your T5240
    and let the GCC Compile Farm maintainers configure your machine.
