  • Reminder: Call for Debian projects and mentors in Google Summer of Code

    Dear Debianties,

    Debian is applying as a mentoring organization for Google Summer of Code 2024. The deadline for the same is February 6, and we would like to have a more extensive list of proposals than we currently have.

    == What is GSoC? ==

    Google Summer of Code is an open source program in which new contributors contribute to a Free Software
    Organization such as Debian and receive a stipend from Google if the project is successful.
    GSoC is a good way to get new (and old) contributors interested in the parts of Debian that
    you consider important and to keep some of them involved with Debian even after the program ends.

    == Proposing a Project ==

    Add your project idea to the GSoC'24 Debian wiki [1], making sure you complete all the fields given in the template.
    We require that the proposed project has at least one mentor who is a Debian Developer.
    If you need any help in drafting a proposal, feel free to drop an email to [email protected].

    This is a *reminder* call to submit Debian projects for GSoC25. The
    deadline for the same is Feb 11 1800 UTC. (roughly ~27 hours)
