A tricky solution, and maybe the worst one:
Install the package anbd create an icon in KDE. Look were it is residing, I believe it is mostly under ~/username/Desktop/
If you know, where it is )or where shall it be after package instrallation), edit postinst of the package in that way, that it will copy or move your *.desktop, where it shall go.
It is just an idea, and I am sure, there is a much better way.
Hope someone else will answer to this question, too.

I'm trying to create a deb file that will install icons in the menu. I've created .desktop files and placed them under /usr/share/applications. These icons do appear, but under KDE, they appear under the "Lost and found" category. I have not been able to find a guide on how to control which category they should appear under.
Ideally, they should appear under a new category (more accurately, a sub-category) I create.
If anyone can direct me to a guide, that would be very helpful.
