Hi,
today the package yubiserver came up as a candidate for the Bug of the
Day[1]. I think this package would integrate nicely into the
Authentication tools packaging team. I'm personally no member of this
team and I do not really feel like a competent member of this team. I
would rather like to find someone who might add the own ID to the
package and take over the maintenance of the package. If this would be
the case I would volunteer to start the "Intend to Salvage" procedure.
(I hope my suspicion is wrong but it seems the maintainer of this
package is MIA - at least we did not got any response to other ITS bugs
in the past.)
Since I'm no member of the Authentication tools packaging team I created
a *temporary* repository in the Salvage team space[2] since it is easier
to move/fork the repository from here. I fixed three bugs (in CC;
review of the debian/*.service file would be welcome anyway) and
modernised the packaging. From my point of view the package is more or
less ready for uploading - just needs an additional Uploader to fulfill
Package Salvaging requirements.
In case nobody has spare spoons to care for it I would consider
orphaning the package. Even than I'm wondering whether the auth-team
space on Salsa might be the best place for the repository instead of
simply keeping it in Debian/.
What do you think?
Kind regards
Andreas.
