    Hi Maarten,

I just wanted to clarify, are you going to work on creating this package, or would you like someone else to? I've been watching this extension and had already thought it'd be useful to have.

    Kind regards,
    Andrew

    Hey Maarten,

Excellent! Thank you for working on the packaging of this extension.

Don't worry about RT4, that'll be removed from unstable Real Soon Now, I
wanted to wait until Trixie was released before requesting it is removed. We can add in RT6 support once I upload RT6 to unstable (almost ready).

You probably want to have a Build-Depends on libmodule-install-rtx-perl
which will then install all the request-trackerX packages that we're
supporting in Debian on the target release.

Pretty much all the extension packages under https://salsa.debian.org/request-tracker-team/ follow the same conventions -
I see you've already copied the debian/rules file.

    Cheers,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

I asked Joost van Baal-Ilić (cc) to review my initial work, following successful builds and tests in my own environment. He requested that I upload it to my personal space on salsa.debian.org. As a result, it is
    now available at:

    https://salsa.debian.org/mhorden/rt-extension-extractcustomfieldvalues

I’m still struggling a bit with the packaging, mainly because the
upstream code is, in principle, compatible with request-tracker4, request-tracker5, and request-tracker6, and could potentially be useful
for Bookworm (via backports), Trixie, and possibly Foxy. I'm unsure how
best to reflect that in the debian/ directory.

    Best,

    Maarten
