• Bug#1110188: dracut-network: do not default to systemd-networkd

From Luca Boccassi@21:1/5 to All on Thu Jul 31 15:50:01 2025
    Package: dracut-network
    Version: 107-2
    Severity: wishlist

    Dear maintainers,

dracut-network/107-2 changed the default network manager to
systemd-networkd. Please undo that change. The default network manager
in debian for desktops is network-manager, so it perhaps might make
sense to use that as the default so that the same stack is used
before/after the initrd boundary, but please check with the respective maintainers if they are ok with that first.

As the package maintainer I do not wish for networkd to be used as the
default, as it would be yet another avenue for package-breaking
demands to be escalated to the TC and so on. It's fine as a
    non-default alternative.

    Thank you.
