    Hi Linux maintainers,

sorry for reassigning bugs to you, but this sounds like a driver
issue. There's lspci and dmidecode output in the bug.

when using headphones with my laptop (Thinkpad W550s) I get a repeating cracking (~1sec intervalls) when nothing is playing.

I have a similar issue on a workstation with Ubuntu 22.04. What is your operating system version? I believe the issue started manifesting once I installed Jack. Do you have Jack on your machine?

    I'm running an up-to-date Debian 12 64Bit (bookworm) and I don't have Jack installed.
After some messing with duckduckgo the problem seems to be, that the system puts the audio-chip to sleep, but not the headphone-amplifier.
I hope someone from Debian can fix it.
