Well, as 6.X seems to continue suffering from this leak, I have been testing 7.0.2 for the past weeks on a production machine and the results were great.
While 6.X was eating more than 8 gb of ram after a couple of days, this was
the status of 7.0.2 after 12 days (back on the 14th july)
